FOR PARENTS

Here you can find all information regarding recruitment, philanthropy events, among other things!

If you're reading this page it is most likely because your son has expressed interest in joining Delta Chi at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The benefits are numerous: local and nationwide philanthropic opportunities, friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, leadership opportunities and retreats, the list goes on and on.

Although the Wilmington Chapter was established in 2011, we have succeeded in setting the bar in what a fraternity should be at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. As a matter of fact, our Chapter has expressed extensive growth in numbers and academics ever since we received our charter.

Our roots go all the way back to October 13th, 1890 at Cornell University. Originally a law fraternity, Delta Chi grew to become a general fraternity in 1922 and was the first Greek Organization to abolish hazing.

Thus, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy towards hazing, and we strongly encourage either you or your son to contact the fraternity if there are any concerns about the activities in which they partake. Delta Chi Nationals, as well as UNC Wilmington, have approved our associate member process ensuring its comprehensiveness, effectiveness, and most importantly, safety.

Furthermore, Associate Members, what we call our new members on their journey in becoming a Brother, will be monitored to ensure that they meet all chapter and school requirements for membership, including academic performance. Many of our current members are involved in other student organizations and we show and try to persuade the associate members to join these organizations. We strive to make the associate member process compatible with the pursuit of a sound education, which should be a student's foremost priority during their time at UNC Wilmington.

While Associate Members' education eventually concludes, the learning does not. Our goal is to prepare young men for their undergraduate years, but also the life beyond the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

We understand the questions that families often have about joining a fraternity. Delta Chi helps the maturation process of members becoming gentlemen. We hope they represent Delta Chi and themselves with the highest honor possible. If we can ever be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at deltachiuncw2011@gmail.com
